S’More Brownie Bites

S’Mores Brownie Bites!

Happy National S’Mores Day! Like many s’mores are my favorite summer treat! Like some don’t have the luxury of an open fire pit to toasts these scrumptious treats up! I am sharing with you "my make in my kitchen" s’more treats!

What you need~
Browne mix
Graham cracker crumbs
Marshmallows
Mini cupcake pan
Non stick spray

Pre-heat your oven to 350. Prepare the graham crumbs according to the directions, I used Keebler brand melt the butter and mix in the crumbs. Prepare the brownie mix. Spray your mini pan with non stick spray, fill each one with the graham cracker crumbs to cover each slot. Spoon in your brownie mix like so~

Bake for 14 minutes. While baking cut your marshmallows into four pieces. Remove the brownies after 14 minutes and quickly place the cut marshmallows pieces into the center of the brownie and put back into the over for another 2-3 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool n the pan at least one hour. Carefully remove the treats from the pan you may need to go around each one with a knife. When you are ready to serve turn on your broiler and place the treats on a baking sheet. Now for the brownies in the pictures, I cut regular size marshmallows n ½ and placed on top of the brownie. You can certainly use a whole one on each!

Place under the broiler, I love my s’mores to be extra toasty this took me 1 minute and 30 seconds! Remove and serve these tasty scrumptious s’more brownie treats!

Pop them onto a stick for the full effect of roasting your s’mores outdoors!

Enjoy!

Peace, Love & S’more Browne Bites,

Valentine's Salty & Sweet Crunch DIY Treat Bags

Valentine's Day will soon be here!  I always enjoy putting together sweet treats for my girls to take to their classmates!  Here is a sweet treat bag idea for you!

First you need to download the FREE adorable favor tags that my friend Rebecca from The Fresh Chick Studio designed for all of us!
http://www.scribd.com/doc/47439452/Just-Because-I-love-you-Valentine-s-Cards
Get your favorite caramel popcorn & a supply of RED M&M's.  My grocery store has a whole bar of many different colored M&M's,you can also buy containers of them at the party store or even Walmart has them.

Get your treat bags, your favorite baker's twine, mine is from my friends at The Twinery or ribbon scissors, ruler and your Martha Stewart Crafts scorer~

Fill your bags with your desired amount of caramel corn and then add your M&M's.  Cut out your adorable tags, use your heart punch in the corner so you can attach it to the treat bag with your twine.  Shake up the bag a bit to mix the two together.

There you go sweet & salty DIY treat bags!  Make it extra special and maybe your little one's can help take part in making their treats for their friends!

Peace, Love & Valentine's Sweet Crunch~

{Updated} Ghostly S'mooooore's DIY Treats

Happy Friday!  Can you believe Halloween is next week?  There will be lots of Halloween & Harvest celebrations going on in the classrooms next week!  Here are 2 ideas for you to make and share with your son's/daughter's classroom or when they arrive home from trick or treating next Sunday!
halloween
First, last year in my daughter's 4th grade class I had the pleasure to read her class a book and hand out some special treats.  I picked up a short version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"  this book is age appropriate and all 26 of them sat quiet and attentive, which had me nearly falling off of my stool while I was ready it.  Honestly, I was a little intimated to do this simply because I didn't want to bring in a book that was too young for them and certainly not one too old.  So if you are looking for a tween appropriate quick Halloween book this is defiantly one to pick up~

These were the cinnamon shortbread cookies I made for them~

What's the plan for this year??  Ghostly Smooooore's treats with homemade marshmallow ghosts!

Do you want to make them and share them with your little ghoul's or their class?  Here's what you need~

~First you need to make the marshmallow.  Don't have a recipe for it?  This is the one I used from the Food Network Marshmallow recipe.  It was very simple, not as messy as I thought it would be or as I had read from other sites.  Basically if you've ever made rice krispy treats, you can make this and get it into your 13x9 pan without much of a problem.  Oh and I didn't use a candy thermometer either, just went by the time in boiling in the directions.

~With the marshmallow you need a ghost cookie cutter, the one I have in the picture above is from Williams Sonoma

You also need:
~Graham crackers
~Snack size Hershey chocolate bars
~Plastic snack bags
~Halloween Printables.  The ones I used are from Bird Crafts and they are only $7 in her Etsy Shop!  Order ~them and she will email them to you with instructions and you print them yourself!
~Double sided tape
~Scissors, a scorer if you have one does make it easier to cut & a ruler
~Black icing or edible black marker for the eyes of the marshmallow ghost
~ Bakery Twine ( mine is The Twinery)

After the marshmallow is done, as per the directions cut out as many ghosts with your cookie cutter that you can,  the amount will depend on how big your cutter is.  Give him eyes and write "Boo" if you wish on him and let it dry.

For the treat bags~
In the mean time get your graham crackers & chocolate bars in the snack bags.  Also cut out your printables and put the double sided tape on the inside of the labels to stick to the top of the bags.  Like this~

I opened the bars for my bags so these favorite treats of many are ready to go with out much work for the ghouls & goblins other than opening their bags!

Here are my finished Ghostly S'mooooores~

For the "at home" S'Mooooore's~

Simply stack 2 graham crackers, 2 chocolate bars, top with your homemade marshmallow ghost and tie with your twine!  Hmmm a nice warm (if your in chilly fall weather) hot chocolate would go perfect with these treats after an evening a trick or treating.

A perfect ghostly treat for your ghoul's and goblins at anytime this next week!  Easy and with the homemade marshmallow you put a little extra DIY love in the scrumptious treat!

Any questions or comments let me know!!  Thanks!

Peace, Love & Ghostly S'mooooore's,
Stacy

Bring on the weekend~melon infused margarita skewers

Ok again, off topic for a post!  But this afternoon it will be back with a fresh strawberry (because I love fresh fruit & summer) & buttercream of course!

So last week when I attended the Martha Stewart Living OmniMedia event as seen here on The Martha Blog today, one of the fantastic tasting treats we had were frozen melon margarita pops.  It was so refreshing and could not resist them and for those of you who personally know me~ I LOVE margarita's!!  Click on the link Martha posted a picture of the frozen treats ;).  I this week was thinking about them in this ridiculous heat and had to try my own!!

To get you ready for the weekend here is a little "how-to" & I say a "must-do" for your happy hour this evening or whenever  your melons and margarita's can come together!!

Here is what I did~ grabbed 3 different melons from my local The Fresh Market; watermelon, cantaloupe & honeydew.  A bottle of Freshie's margarita mix this is the only mix I will use these days....all natural ingredients including the sugar, the lime juice & the oj and it taste so good and fresh (hence the name ;)).  I had the alcohol already at home~ the tequila & cointreau.

I mixed 2 glasses worth of  margarita's poured it in with the fruit that I had cut up into corningware bowl that has a seal tight lid. (tip: VERY IMPORTANT don't put it in plastic....alcohol eats away at plastic, email me if you want to know how I learned it...it was 20 years ago..lol).

Use how ever much fruit can fit and of course if you need more.....make another Margarita!!

Ok, so I infused mine for 6 hours in the fridge.  Took them out, got my skewers out and placed three on each, then on a platter to the freezer for about 30 mins!  They are extremely tasty and refreshing I must say!  Please take a few minutes to party or relax with your melons & margarita's this weekend!!

Enjoy~ If you are new to my blog please leave a comment if you do mind :) and at the very least follow along!

Peace, Love & Infused Melon Margarita's~
