Creative with Fondant

When it comes to using fondant I like to say I think at times outside of the box.  Using fondant doesn't only have to be just for cakes, cookies & cupcakes.  Last October when Rebecca & Shannon of Fresh Chick Design Studio were planning Rebecca’s “Baby Shower Happy Hour” to celebrate her third baby on the way, I had the idea to create coordinating fondant “glass rimmers” to make her drinks sweet.   For both the taste and presentation for her and her quests.

Take a look!  I adore this whole party from the colors to the reason to celebrate.  I also love the way they designed the cake with the fondant pieces that I sent to her.
You can read and see more details on Hostesswith the Mostess where the party was featured!

What do you think?  What ways would you use fondant pieces while entertaining?

CHEERS!! Happy Friday!  Enjoy your weekend!

Under the Sea Cookies

Under the sea fondant & royal icing decorated cookies~

I enjoyed making these cookies for the St. Alphonsus School's Father/Daughter Dance last week.
For the water and sand I piped a wavy line and then brushed the icing down with a paint brush and then free hand the rest of the designs.

Decorate it yourself cakes with custom Fondant Pieces!

In the last year I have had the opportunity to create custom fondant pieces for some very colorful and creative parties!  Just want to share some of the photos!

Buying a professionally decorated cake from a bakery is not cheap.  But baking a cake yourself, with your little ones or buying an undecorated simply iced cake from your store and adding your own fondant pieces most certainly is affordable and FUN!

Fashionable Cake

So this week has been busy busy to say the least!  I am working quickly to get the etsy shop up with fondant pieces to accessorize your store bought & homemade cakes along with other sweet & creative things!

I have been doing utilizing this idea since last summer when we were on vacation and I needed a cake for my husbands birthday and I knew I would not be able to bake one myself.  I did know that I would be able to make fondant pieces prior to leaving on vacation to take with me to decorate a cake that a bakery simply dirty iced for me!  Check out the photos from my husband's 40th birthday last summer to see.

So with that and what was shown a few weeks ago from the Fresh Chick, I will be opening a shop with Fondant Pieces for you to dress up a bakery cake, store bought or a cake you simply bake yourself!

I will have very unique and fun pieces for everyone to take advantage of semi-decorating your cake!

Until then here is a sweet fashionable cake I was able to do for a fantastic tween this weekend!  Inspired by the legendary Barbie herself!  I am also on a shabby chic vintage kick with preparing for a shabby chic tea party in the upcoming weeks.  I love the look of this cake with the icing and fondant pieces.......

Cake for a Tacky Party

My friend Lisa celebrated her birthday with all her girlfriends....her theme was a "Tacky Party", so everyone had to bring something that was tacky...so I made only 1/2 of a cake...LOL!!  It was a great time!

Vanilla white cake with vanilla buttercream covered and decorated with Satin Ice fondant. Mini cupcakes with milk chocolate buttercream...
Shag carpet came to mind when I outlined the cake with a pink vanilla buttercream
