Bridal Shower Sweet Inspiration

Today I am sharing with you a cake, cupcakes & simple designs
I created for a bridal shower in which the theme was roses.

I hand stamped fondant hearts with the bride & the groom's initials to personalize the sweets.

Made simple fondant roses for the cake & cupcakes~

Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

Last week I baked & styled a party for an end of the school year with a "Milk and Cookies Bar" theme.  I wanted to share the chocolate chip cookie brownies I created!

I have had & seen where people bake the 2 doughs together for a sweet treat, but what I wanted was for the cookie to actually bake inside the brownie here is what I did~

Because I was attempting this last minute and wasn't sure how it would work,  I  used pre-made for both the brownies and cookies.  I used the famous refrigerated Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie dough and baked those cookies for 6 1/2 minutes.  Just enough for the cookie to hold its shape for when I dropped them into the prepared brownie batter pan.

While the cookies are baking, prepare according the the package the brownie mix.  After the 6 1/2 minutes I took the cookies out and carefully removed 1 by 1 and placed them into the pan of brownie batter.  After all 12 cookies were placed I used my small icing knife to cover the cookies with the brownie mix in the pan.

Bake according to the brownie box and this is what it looked like coming out of the over~

And the final scrumptious result!  A Chocolate Chip Surprise Brownie!!  Unbelievable you will not east just one!

Sweet Product Features

Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone is doing well!  I have been super busy as we all are this time of year with spring sports, try-outs, baking & styling parties!
I wanted to share in case you missed it features from this week with sweets that I created for two incredibly talented party stylists a few weeks ago!

Hostess with the Mostess by Fresh Chick Studio ~
I love the color scheme, fabrics & graphics of this party!

Here is the whole dessert display styled by Rebecca & photo of the the fondant cake pieces that were created to accessorize her store bought cake.  Taking a traditional $9 cake with $25 fondant pieces for a cake that would more or less cost from a bakery $60 or more!

Buying a cake from the bakery to dress up is certainly a trend that is catching on in the party world!  I first starting doing this last summer from my husbands birthday - click here to see!

Now this is party certainly is fit from a princess with so many AMAZING details created by Nancy of A to Zebra Celebrations that was featured on Celebrations at Home!

Her daughter turned 4, Hannah and all the little princesses enjoyed personalized crown cookies that day!  I love making the party about all the guests along with the guest of honor!  This was a perfect way to do so!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Happy Day all!  The sun is shining and this day has 3 of my favorite things in the food & cocktail world involved in it to celebrate!  Which are~ Margarita's, Avocado & Sour Cream!

Here are two last minute ideas for you to celebrate the day or even prepare for the weekend. The weather here in the Northeast is going to be great on Saturday so celebrate that too with margarita infused melon!

Remember last year we had these served to us at The Martha Stewart Blogger's Night Out event, I of course had to make them again they were extremely refreshing!

Here is a little "how-to" & I say a "must-do" for your happy hour this evening or whenever  your melons and margarita's can come together!!

What you need~

A good Margarita Mix
Cut up melon
Skewers or popsicle sticks

Here is what I did~ grabbed 3 different melons from my local The Fresh Market; watermelon, cantaloupe & honeydew.  A bottle of
Freshie's margarita mix this is the only mix I will use these days....all natural ingredients including the sugar, the lime juice & the oj and it taste so good and fresh (hence the name ;)).  I had the alcohol already at home~ the tequila & cointreau.

I mixed 2 glasses worth of  margarita's poured it in with the fruit that I had cut up into corningware bowl that has a seal tight lid. (tip: VERY IMPORTANT don't put it in plastic....alcohol eats away at plastic, email me if you want to know how I learned it...it was 20 years ago..lol).

Use how ever much fruit can fit and of course if you need more.....make another Margarita!!

Ok, so I infused mine for 6 hours in the fridge.  Took them out, got my skewers out and placed three on each, then on a platter to the freezer for about 30 mins!  They are extremely tasty and refreshing I must say!  Please take a few minutes to party or relax with your melons & margarita's tonight or this weekend!!

Don't forget a 5 layer Mexican Dip!

1 1/2 cups of Sour Cream
Taco Seasoning
1 cup of Black Beans
1 cup of Tomato Salsa
8oz of Cream Cheese
1 c Shredded Cheddar Cheese
3 chopped green onions
1/2 c sliced black olives

Preheat the oven to 350.  Mix together the seasoning and sour cream.  Spread the cream cheese on the bottom of an 8x8 pan or oven proof dish.  Layer beans, salsa, sour cream mix and cheddar cheese on top.  Bake 12 minutes, garnish with green onions & olives.  Grab a bag of your favorite chips & serve!!

Peace, Love & Cinco de Mayo,

Stacy
